Mrs. Bisilla Bokoko, President

presidentBisila Bokoko-Echols was the Executive Director of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in New York for almost 7 years. The Chamber is a bi-lateral private U.S. non-profit organization dedicated to fostering trade, investment and institutional relations between Spain and the United States. Bisila has been described as a dynamic international business strategist with expertise in business development. She has helped companies successfully enter international markets in Europe, U.S. and Africa.  Her ability to develop and cultivate relationships with foreign Heads of State, Ministries of Commerce / Economy and International business leaders has made her one of the ten most influential Spanish women in the American business. Bisila has committed her daily life activities to inspiring and bringing hope to children in Africa and Latin America. In 2009, Ms. Bokoko founded The BisilaBokoko African Literacy Project (BBALP), a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote literacy among the African people. Ms. Bokoko focused her efforts on organizing people and resources to build modern libraries in Africa. The aim of BBALP is to bring together people from all over the world to share and embrace the motto: with a book, you are never alone.

Interested in: Facilitating high performing and special learners in both traditional and non-traditional learning environments; Factors contributing to performance gaps between high performing, achieving students and apparently low-performing students. Implemented strategic plans to establish a nursery -8th grade school including mission and vision and yearly objectives, Hands-on in all administrative and academic tasks including staff recruitment and development, Developed curriculum that meets the needs of gifted and other special needs students, Specifically prepare high performing and gifted learners to enter the independent school system by ISEE test preparation and one-on-one advising

Mrs. Sharon Doctor, Chair to the Board

sharonOver the past 14 years, Sharon Doctor’s career has focused on public service on a global, national, and local level.  Mrs. Doctor’s passion for advancing global health began in Malawi, where she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer and led efforts in improving HIV/AIDS prevention activities and maternal & child health at the District Health Office.  Mrs. Doctor also served as a Program Director of a supportive housing program that catered to adults living with HIV/AIDS and mental disorders.  In 2011, Mrs. Doctor joined Community Healthcare Network, a not-for-profit organization that provides primary care and women’s health services in underserved communities throughout New York City.  Currently, Mrs. Doctor serves as the United Nations Representative for World Mission Foundation, a NGO located in NYC.

Mrs.Doctor believes that happiness is being able to experience profound joy that comes from never being defeated by any problem in life.  She is a Buddhist and member of the SokaGakkai International (SGI).    The SGI’s philosophy is rooted in the concept of "human revolution," a process of inner transformation through Buddhist practice. It is a process that leads us to develop our character and to act not only for our personal fulfillment but also for the betterment of society

Dr. Ada Okika Executive Director/UN Main Rep

Dr. Ada Okika is a Consultant to many Organizations CEOat the United Nations. Ada Okika’s expertise is on gender equality, children and youths empowerment programs. She is also the Proprietor of Irene Menakaya School Onitsha and Executive Director of Friends of Education for African Children orphaned By AIDS. Dr. Ada Okika has been honored with many awards including the recent Women Ambassador Award, Ambassador for Peace Award, Community Leadership Award, Member Community Advisory Board, Project Brief Initiative at Jacobi Medical Center NY and Honorary Doctor of Counseling. Her hobbies and special interests include advocating for Women, Children Rights and Gender issues, researching, writing, developing inspired ideas into programs and Consulting. She has volunteered to many International Organizations including the last concluded International AIDS Society Conference at Washington DC USA.

Mrs. Chinelo Emedoh, Director Policy and Advocacy

directorAn MBA in Healthcare Management graduate from St. Leo University, Florida, ChineloEmedoh grew up in Onitsha, Nigeria, schooled at the Irene Menakaya School formerly known as International Nursery/Primary School.  She resides in Brookhaven, PA with her husband and three daughters. As a University graduate in Law from University of Manchester London, Ilearnt well about education and its significant role in the development of human rights. My goal therefor is to mentor less privileged children and assist in providing them with solid education foundation that could enable them to good knowledge on human rights.

Maurene Brown - Philip was born in Jamaica West Indies and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in linguistics from the University of West Indies. He is a graduate of the America Institute of Banking and has spent her entire career in the banking industry in NY. Maurene has embraced the calling on her life to teach the word of God and is currently a Professor at Kingdom Ambassador Global Ministries where Apostle Dr. Aretha Wilson is the General Pastor.

advocateI am 8 years old now. I go to school at Mother of Providence   Regional Catholic School and I am in 2nd grade. I love to do Spanish, French, reading, Maths and play on the computer. I just celebrated my birthday and I had so much fun with my friends. I had  lots of presents and we played lots of games   When my friends  all  left, I was so tired and then I  got  ready for bed . The next day, I also had some more fun with my little sisters. when I  was at school, my principal  called my name and I  went  up the stage  and then we said our  prayers  like  we do all the time.

My name is ChukwudiOnyejiukwa. I am 12 years old. I am Nigerian. I live in New York City. I go to school at York Early College Academy, Queens, Jamaica, NY. I am happy working hard and like subjects such as science, math, and social studies. I wish to be a neurosurgeon.
